Pansion Albin, Zadar, Croatia

Rated No 1 on TripAdvisor for B&Bs - I fell in love with this place when emailing the owner Leo, but unfortunately we never got to meet.  Despite that the night manager and receptionist were very helpful and informative, and the only reason that I am not recommending this B&B is that my favourite place to stay in Zadar is the Hotel Adriana (which is €163 for a room, half board and spa entry for 2 people, as opposed to €60 for this room.) 

Our room was very nice - small, but with a cute little balcony - a very tiny corridor bathroom with a shower that soaked the floor - but the bed was excellent - best night's sleep of the weekend, even though it's on a main road there are no cars until about 7am - heaven.

Breakfast at the Pansion was good (8-10am)  - lots of bread, ham, cheese, eggs, juice everything you need to set you up for the day.  Unfortunately their pool is still empty (according to Tripadvisor it has been forever, but it's not really why you stay there!)

There’s also a very handy supermarket across the road and a pharmacy and tour office at the end of the road.  It’s also well served by the local buses so an excellent base for exploring the area.

Don’t get me wrong, some of these are excellent, but I couldn’t, in good conscience give them a Pearl Recommendation.  Sometimes they were just beaten to the punch, or I couldn’t decide a clear winner, other times they had a lot right, but I felt they just weren’t there.  I don’t really want to give bad reviews, but anything I felt was really best avoided you’ll find in the Jellyfish section.
