It wasn’t very exciting.  On time, with a snack, not bumpy.  Which is probably the best thing you can say about most flights.

Although there are lots of cheap flights from London to Rome I find it often works out more expensive to travel to Luton or Stansted, although some of the budget airlines do fly out of Gatwick. 

Flying into Fiumicino is fairly straightforward as there’s a speedy commuter train into Roma Termini (although it’s a lot more expensive than trains when you get out of Rome!)
