Ways To Meditate

 

There are thousands, if not millions of practices we call meditation or mindfulness, but some say we are meditating all the time, so any thought you have is a meditation and can bring you closer to peace and happiness or further from it.

 

Thich Nhat Hanh is often quoted as saying "There is no way to peace, peace is the way".  Every time we get quiet and calm and begin to meditate we can find the peace and harmony we are seeking.  In taking the first step you arrive.

 

Be kind and generous with yourself when you choose to meditate.  Very often we avoid it because when we start strong emotions and thoughts can come up.  When you calm the waters of your mind, sometimes we see the things we have been avoiding by keeping the water churning.

 

These are some of my favourite ways to meditate, some are for everyday and others for when I feel the need to readjust and remember the true nature of the world and myself.  I hope they bring you peace and help you see how wonderful this world is.
